777 Nollamara reaches gold standard in workplace Mental Health.

The 777 Nollamara team are used to accolades, but their most recent achievement is something to be extra proud of. Mental Health First Aid Australia (MHFA) have listed 777 Nollamara as a Gold Level Skilled Workplace in Mental Health. This is an outstanding achievement as 777 Nollamara is one of only two pharmacies nationwide who have achieved this rating.

The MHFA course and subsequent award is the culmination of two years of hard work for the Nollamara team and is an important step in achieving their plan to better the lives of local patients. It equips the Nollamara team with the practical skills and knowledge they need to support patients with developing or existing mental health issues, particularly in times of stress or crisis. 

Critically, the Nollamara staff can also connect vulnerable individuals to the appropriate professionals and services they need and the team pride themselves on this collaborative approach to working with the wider health care network.

Pharmacy 777 Nollamara’s Counsellor and Hypnotherapist Natalie Elphick said she was “extremely proud” of the award and what it means for local patients. “I work with a team who are genuinely passionate about helping individuals with improving their mental health,” she said. “We focus on supporting and educating all our patients with the aim for them to be as well as they can be both physically and mentally. Our Pharmacists may be the first health professional individuals seek help from, so it’s vital that our staff are empowered with knowledge and skills to intervene early and aid in quicker recovery.”

To meet the MHFA Gold Standard, a workplace is required to have a minimum of 40% of their staff trained in Mental Health First Aid. In typical fashion 777 Nollamara have gone above and beyond as every team member who works in their Pharmacy is trained and accredited by MHFA.
