Today (November 19) is the day to celebrate the amazing men in your life on International Men’s Day 2024.
It’s also time to give them a gentle reminder of why they should look after their health and make it a priority.
Pharmacy 777 has been focussing on men’s health in honour of International Men’s Day.
“Pharmacists are an accessible first port of call for men to come and have a chat to a health professional about any concerns they might have,” Pharmacy 777 Pharmacist, Adrian Fulco.
“Sometimes men don’t prioritise their health like they should, but we’ve created a space for open and honest conversations in Pharmacy about men’s health that is supportive and not confronting.
“We encourage men to embrace preventative care and live overall healthier lifestyles. But whatever you need to talk about your community Pharmacist is an important first step in the process.”
On average, Australian men have a shorter life expectancy than women and are less likely to engage in preventative healthcare.
Many men encounter barriers when engaging with healthcare providers, leading to avoidance of health concerns.
“Pharmacists have the power to change this by helping men focus on their health, and by breaking down stereotypes and addressing negative healthcare experiences,” Adrian added.
“Our aim is to create a space for open and honest conversations about men’s health, with both sensitivity and understanding.”
Pharmacy 777 is running a current health promotion where men can visit their local Pharmacy 777 and fill in a quick and easy health questionnaire to start their health conversation with a Pharmacist.
A recent partnership with Australian health technology company Sapyen means men can now purchase an at-home fertility test from their local Pharmacy 777.
Pharmacy 777 are extremely proud to be partnering with Sapyen to provide Australian men with accessible and timely fertility testing.
