About this service.

Pharmacy 777 Health Checks are designed to identify some early warning signs for chronic disease and help you stay healthy. You’ll receive instant results and an assessment of your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease over the next 5 years.

Why is a Health Check important?

Chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes are largely preventable through early screening and lifestyle modifications. A Health Check can help identify your risk of developing these conditions. Your Pharmacist will explain your results and provide lifestyle advice on how to reduce your risk.
 

What happens at the appointment?

Our Health Checks are private consultations that take 20 minutes.
 
Your Pharmacist will ask a series of questions relating to your health including;

• Family history
• Health history
• Lifestyle, E.g. Diet, exercise, alcohol consumption

 Your Pharmacist will measure your blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference, and total and HDL cholesterol*.
 

*If eligible for the CVD Absolute Risk Assessment.

 
You will receive an instant report, an explanation of your results and advice on lifestyle changes that could help you reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and potentially other chronic conditions. If required, your Pharmacist will also provide you with a referral to your GP.
 

How much does it cost?

Our Health Check consultation costs $40, which includes your test results and a comprehensive report.

HBF MEMBER?

Eligible HBF members can claim a fully covered, Health Check.

You must be covered for a Health Check on your Extras cover to be eligible to claim a benefit. Waiting periods and limits apply. Service must be delivered by an approved, participating Pharmacy 777. Other criteria, terms and conditions apply.
